Counselling and Guidance

I am a counselling psychologist offering online sessions through A Safe Place. My work is not about fixing people — it is about sitting with you long enough to understand what is actually going on, and then finding ways forward that fit the life you already have.

My approach

Led by you, one honest conversation at a time

I work in a person-centred way, which simply means you set the direction. There is no script I am trying to run you through, and no correct way to feel about your own life. My first job is to listen closely enough that you feel understood rather than assessed.

From there, we get practical. We look at the patterns underneath the difficulty — the thoughts that repeat, the situations that drain you, the things you have already tried — and build small, doable coping tools around them. Small changes you can actually keep tend to outlast dramatic ones.

Sessions are unhurried and collaborative. Some days we plan; some days you just need to be heard, and that is a complete use of the hour. Nothing you bring will be met with judgement, and nothing leaves the room.

Your first session

What to expect, start to finish

  1. 01

    Booking

You write to garima.vd1503@gmail.com or call +91 73195 30355. We agree on a time between 10 AM – 6 PM and I send you a private video link.

  2. 02

    The first few minutes

We start slowly. I explain how sessions work, what confidentiality means in practice, and answer anything you want to ask before we begin.

  3. 03

    Your story, at your pace

You share what brought you here. I may ask gentle questions about how things have been recently, what has helped before, and what feels hardest right now. You can pause or skip anything.

  4. 04

    Nothing to prepare

No forms, no reports, no diagnosis needed. A quiet spot, headphones if you have them, and a stable connection are enough.

  5. 05

    Deciding together

Sessions run 45 to 60 minutes. Near the end we look at what might help next — weekly sessions, a fortnightly rhythm, or simply a follow-up when you feel like it. You are never committed to a package.

Kind words

What clients say about the space

I did not expect to feel so at ease on a video call. Nothing was rushed, and for the first time I felt genuinely listened to.

We worked on small, practical steps for my anxiety instead of big promises. A few weeks in, my evenings feel calmer.
